PDSFF27 | SHOCKWAVES Volunteer Trainings on Film Critique & Intersectionality

Autumn always marks the beginning of the volunteer team’s journey for PDSFF!

This year, we are happy to be working with a large team of eager and curious members, half of which are returning volunteers. Due to this mix, we decided to broaden the contents of the trainings we offer. We hosted two trainings on film critique, facilitated by Yannis Kantea-Papadopoulos, which focused on the concept of film critique, how it applies to the process of preselection, the anatomy of a film, and different approaches on judging one.

After the basis on film selection was laid out, we continued with two trainings on intersectionality, the concept on which the festival was built in the first place. With our facilitator, Christina Maridaki, we went through the basics of intersectionality through collective reading exercises and discussions, and we then dived deeper into it through experiential excercises.

The team is ready to begin the pre-selection process and we all look forward to shape the PDSFF27 | SHOCKWAVES programme.
