After our training on film critique, we met again with the volunteers team, for a training on intersectionality – one of the fundamental concepts behind PDSFF’s approach – carried out by Christiana Gennata, psychologist and scientific associate in Orlando LGBT.

Christiana introduced the volunteer team to the concept of intersectionality, its roots and its definitions, as well as terms and concepts tied to it, such as gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, class and bodily integrity. We talked about the matrix of domination and the axes of oppression and privilege and went through basic bibliography.
For the second part, we worked in teams and each team was asked to create an imaginary character and draw them. We talked about the identities of our characters and the oppressions and privileges they experience.
We are now ready to begin watching all the amazing films that have been sent to us and work on PDSFF26 | THE URGE!
