Positively Different Short Film Festival 2020 is about intersecting discriminations. It follows complex paths aiming to give space to “invisible” stories to be articulated and heard; stories of characters, persons and communities facing marginalisation by social norms due to identities they carry.
Gender, sexuality, race, class, ethnicity, religion, able-bodiness – are determinants of our present and future, life prospects and obstructions. PDSFF21 focuses on their intersections and follows stories of characters, individuals and communities that experience oppression due to identities they carry.

Between the perception of individual uniqueness as an obstacle to collective action and established but abusive groupings that only represent privileged minorities, there lies a dilating social space; our space. PDSFF22 explores the frontiers of different communities and the commonalities of characteristics, oppressions and struggles that constitute them.

PDSFF23 looks holistically and critically into the concept of intersectionality; the sets examine its entangled nature and its limits in relation to universal assumptions – the concepts of body, space, boundaries – but also realities that we constitute – relationships, communities, everyday life.

Love is care, restlessness, togetherness; To love is to revolt against norms and assigned roles. Revolt is courage, dreaming, fire, urge to change. Revolt is an act of love for the self and for others. PDSFF24 | ga awaits for you at the intersection.
We dare you to imagine a leap away from the solid ground of bright or grim realities;
to jump through the hole of fantasy, memory, desire, hope.
Into the subversive and world making space of the world of PDSFF25 | Daring Imagination.

As PDSFF enters its 7th year, we remain dedicated to nurturing a space where the personal is political and vice versa. Τogether we dream of a world that is worth fighting for. The time is now; the question is how.
