Awards

The jury of the 7th edition of PDSFF, Eva Stefani, Panagiotis Evangelidis, Silas Michalakas, awarded the Best Film Award to Aldi, by Giorgi Arabuli, and the Best Greek Production Award to The Cafe Will Remain Closed by Anna Chrysanthakopoulou and Magdalini Alexandri. They also granted 2 honourable mentions to Actually, I didn’t want to stay long by Andreas Grützner and Prelude to a Supernova by Christos Artemiou. The audience voted for their favourite film, giving the Audience Award to Prelude to a Supernova. The curatorial team of PDSFF26 conferred its Curatorial Award to Maps from Within by Christina Aguilera.

The jury of the 6th edition of PDSFF, Thanasis Neofotistos, Maria Louka, Janis Westphal and Karla Crnčević, awarded the Best Film Award to Palestine Islands, by Nour Ben Salem and Julien Menanteau, and the Best Greek Production Award to Honeymoon by Alki Papastathopoulos. They also granted 3 honourable mentions to Pigeons are dying, when the city is on fire by Stavros Markoulakis, When the land runs away by Frederico Lobo and A Summer’s End Poem by Lam Can-zhao. The audience voted for their favourite film, Palestine Islands, while the festival’s curatorial team conferred its award to Pavlos Paraskevopoulos’ Alles Gut.

The jury of the 5th edition of PDSFF, Sofia Exarchou, Carol Sansour, Chipo Zhou and Tasos Melemenidis, awarded the Best Film Award to the documentary Suddenly Tv by Roopa Gogineni and the Best Greek Production Award to Good Girls Club: A Virginity Odyssey by Leda Vartzioti and Dimitris Tsakaleas. They also granted 2 honourable mentions to Raticide and Mariam by João Niza and Lionel Meta respectively. The audience voted for their favourite film, Ramazan Kilic’s Things Unheard of while the Festival’s curatorial team conferred its award to Mehtap Samiloglu’s Summer Holiday.

After four full days of screenings, discussions, meetings, laughs and tears, PDSFF23 drew to a close with an Award Ceremony and Screening of Awarded Shorts on Sunday night. The Festival’s Jury, comprised by Artemis Anastasiadou and Zacharias Mavroeidis, filmmakers, awarded the Best Film Award and the Best Greek Production Award, as well as two Honourable Mentions to one greek and one international production, the Curatorial Team of PDSFF chose the Curatorial Team “Positively Different” Award, and the audience gave the Audience Award through public voting throughout all festival screenings.
